Dave And Busters - Unsatisfactory visit

I have recently been visiting my local Dave and Busters (Concord/Veranda shopping center) more often lately. Perhaps my recent visits contributed to the winter weather and has given me the opportunity to get out of the house and provide me with some form of entertainment.

Not to mention its open late. I am getting familiar with the games and love using my points towards selective entrees. I have utilized the app and am just familiarizing myself with the food menu and the late night $5 happy hour menu. However I was quite dissatisfied with my recent visit.

I visited last night with my son and boyfriend and trying to budget for the evening we used coupons for our game play and planned our meals around the $5 late night happy hour menu thats advertised. What was shocking was our almost $70 dollar bill ($67.97) that should have been $25. When we questioned the waiter she mentioned the promotion was not for Saturday night. We told her we specifically ordered off the $5 promo menu set on the table we were seated and while taking our order we were pointing to each item while holding the $5 menu not to mention thats all our order consisted of was items from that $5 menu.

Down to even the one drink I ordered. Yet it was not mentioned at the time after clearly seeing we were sticking to that promo that it wasnt valid on Saturdays and was a shock when we got our bill for we hadnt planned on such an expensive trip. Not to mention every time we go to eat it takes at least 20 minutes if not more to get any service. On two occasions we had to ask for a waiter because we were just sitting there with no acknowledgment or service.

It happens every time we go so we have now started asking for the waiters names hoping to see them the next time and get some kind of acknowledgment and faster service. To early to tell if this approach proves successful. But last night really was disappointing. I feel we should have had the discount honored.

I feel the waitress clearly saw what our intentions were and failed to mention the $5 menu was not valid that evening. So I would like to share my experience in hopes of getting a refund and help ensuring any future visits.

Next time read the menu more carefully. It’s ironic that when sitting at home deciding where to eat that “always 20 minute wait” didn’t dissuade you from going. It was only an issue AFTER you received the check.

Very dissatisfied consumer

Last night (1/6/2024 @ 8:23pm CST) was the worst experience I have ever had at your establishment thanks to the poor *** attitude of your manager, Eddie. He could have easily prevented this experience but chose not to just because he did not want to.

My husband ordered "extra crispy" bone in wings. Per Eddie, he put the order in as such. When they arrived, they were extra soft. We let the waitress, Lo, know this isn't what was ordered. Her response was that the kitchen is backed up so give them some grace. That was strike one! But instead of going there, we gave her the plate and advised her they are no longer wanted. Eddie comes over and says he put the order in for extra crispy so not sure what happened but he'll take them off of the bill. There was no apology given. That is strike two! As I am eating and the couple we came there with is eating our ordered food, my husband is eating his order of fries. Then he sees a burger and says he can order that. Literally a minute later a food delivery person walks to our table with a burger and other food items and asks if we ordered it. We laughed and said no. So he goes to the table behind us, where no one is sitting since the guest had already left and the table was ready for the next guest, and he said the order was for that table. We told him the guest had already eaten and left. He leaves the food there anyway. While we were waiting for Eddie to come back, the hostess came to check on our table and we told her what happened. My husband then said he wanted to order a burger but since the kitchen is backed up he can take the burger that was just delivered on the table behind us. She wasn't sure how that would work so she went to talk to Eddie. Eddie comes back and agrees that we can have the burger and he'll add it to the bill. No problem. We are all finished and ready for the bill. Eddie brings the bill over. I told him, before you drop the bill, let me ask you a question. He said sure. I asked, "did you compensate my husband for the inconvenience of the wings not being prepared correctly?" His reply was "I took them off the bill". My reply was, as you should, but he was inconvenienced and still chose to eat something else. So can you compensate him? Eddie's reply was to repeat himself verbatim. So I said, we know you took the wings off the bill, but you said the order you placed was not delivered correctly. So can you compensate for the dissatisfaction. Eddie finally said "No, I can not. He ate the burger so he will pay for the burger!". So I replied that paying for the burger is not a problem. We are just asking for some type of compensation for the error of your kitchen. Eddie placed the bill on the table and said, "He ate the burger so he is paying for the burger!" I said as a manager, you are not willing to compensate for the issue at all. Eddie replied "No!" and started to walk off. So I asked for the number to cooperate, that I'll take this up with them. He smiles in a condescending way and says, "of course, let me get you the number, no problem!" This was the 3rd strike! He returns with the piece of paper with the number written on it and his name. We proceed to pay the bill. While at the table we attempt to complete the survey on our receipts. There were 2 separate tabs. The husband of the couple we were with completed their survey. When I tried to use the QR code on my receipt, it said my survey had already been completed. So we asked Lo if each receipt had their own survey links. She didn't know but said she could ask the manager. I immediately said never mind, no need.

As we were packing our food to go, Eddie came back and asked, did we ask his employee how to complete the surveys. I said we did but told her never mind as I would instead contact corporate. He instantly got upset and said that he tried to rectify this matter with us. So I asked him how??? Then my husband stopped both of us and addressed Eddie directly to tell him we were not trying to get free food but compensation for an error we did not cause. Eddie got loud and what looked frazzled and walked off then came back saying how he is the manager and he did what he needed to do but he isn't going to take this.

We looked at each other like what is he talking about.

So I said let's go! He is trying to cause something that isn't even happening. As we were leaving, we saw him standing with the 2 on duty security guards. The final strike!

We did not make a scene and left the establishment in disbelief that we experienced this at Dave and Buster.

Mistreatment by Manager

I reserved a table to watch the super bowl with several friends. We arrived at 5:55 pm did not receive first drinks until 6:20.

After an hour of no service or drinks I went to ask the manager if we could get some service we had been waiting for over an hour. She laughed and stated that I had not even been there an hour. This was at 8:24 I had been there for much longer than an hour and my tab proves it. She continued to roll her eyes and walked off as I was talking to her.

I tried to explain that she may have seen me just come in but I had been there but went out front to their smoking area. She was being rude and racist because she went right over and very nicely asked a person of color how she could help them.

The manager sounds unprofessional. Yes, it was the Superbowl and no doubt super busy, but that doesn't excuse the unprofessionalism and laughing at a customer and misjudging what time they arrived.

It is the Superbowl they were busy. If you are impatient stay at home with your parents or a babysitter.

I am wondering why one of the adults at your table did not correct your behavior.

Perhaps they were too busy watching the game to notice your rude behavior. Maybe your parents could have provided you with a coloring book or toys to keep you occupied?

This is a public internet forum where people post complaints about tens of thousands of different companies. To assume someone works at any particular business just because they made a comment, is quite foolish. I myself have been accused of being a manager for a coffee shop in England, a server at a club in Branson, MO....I also apparently work for Wells Fargo, Family Dollar, Longhorn Steakhouse and every fast food company you can think of.

My Experience

I visited my local Dave & Busters yesterday and the waitress was extremely overwhelmed and did not have the food I initially wanted. As a regular, I understand that on Sundays this establishment is extremely packed.

I had asked for a meal and ordered drinks for myself and my friend. We did not receive the drinks until thirty minutes into our time with no food. They had told me that the meal I had ordered was not available. I had ordered another meal, recommended by the waiter.

Twenty minutes later, he came back to tell me that they do not have that meal as well. I had ordered the Rib-eye. We got our drinks, got the meal, and I immediately felt sick after eating it. Two hours later, I had symptoms of food poisoning.

I woke up today with the same symptoms. This is extremely unfortunate as I am a regular and thought I would enjoy a new meal. I paid in total $67 for a meal I initially did not order.

Now I have food poisoning, this is unfortunate. Is there any compensation for this inconvenience?

Won't let bring in my hydroflask

I was headed into Dave and busters long beach and the rent a cop told me I could not bring my hydroflask. then proceeds to put his hand on his gun. Really I can't bring my own water? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

My husband was overcharged by 150 dollars on December 29th by the Syracuse, NY location. We have been trying to get a refund since then and have been screwed every step of the way.

Everyone has lied to us or just wont return calls. Initially they called him back and said within 2 days it'll be there. Nope. Our bank won't let us dispute because he physically put his card in the card reader.

We were only supposed to be charged 3 dollars.

He recently was in touch with Erik Rosas after all of this who said "if you don't have that refund within 2 days, get ahold of me!" Wow, shocker. Still don't have it. He won't return emails.

We used IncentRev Sweet Deals vouchers which were for 4 50 dollar power cards. We received one card with 900 credits and said that was the best they could do for us.

Not only were we scammed of credits but also now 150 dollars that has severely damaged our financial situation. We need help. This is exhausting.

150 is a lot to us especially in this economy and we really needed it.

We specifically tried to use cash since we had to pay 3 dollars, she said no it'd mess up her register. Here we are.

Card issue

I had around10 to 15 tokens on my card and 300+ tickets and needed more play tokens on my card and wanted to pay with cash and the worker took my card that had the play tokens and tickets on it and said my card was damaged but It still worked when you scanned it on the machine and then she gave me a new one and. Didn't add my tokens and ticketss from my old card to the new card I thought she did but she threw it in the trash and when I realized she didnt put my old tokens and tickets on my new card she had told me she threw it in the trash and and she didn't take it out and I'm like wow I kept that card for a reason she I was kinda not satisfied with the visit and was seeing if there's anything Dave and busters can do thank you

Terrible service & manager

Dave & Busters#21 9333 Research Blvd Suite A600 Austin,TX 78759 dining room horrible service!! Food took extremely long to come out then server asked everyone in my party to give the kitchen grace when one of the guests at my tables food came wrong.

Upon advising the manager of the matter and the experience he basically stated oh well. This was due to manager Eddie feeling overwhelmed. Also the bathroom was filthy blood on the sink napkins literally all over the floor very unsanitary.. half the stalls not functioning no tissue available just a nasty facility.

This location needs to do better be more concerned about a consumers experience in stead of chalking it up as oh well when our party spent our hard earned money to dine. This occurred 1/7/2024 times:8:30pm.

Although poor service we paid for the food! When coming out to dine in a restaurant you just expect better service and a clean environment!

Hi.. I usually don't complain but this time i feel that somthing should definately be done about the experience my family and I had las Wednesday..

My family and I try to go every Wednesday cause lets just be honest thats really the only time we can afford to go. Well first let me tell you last Wed we got thereindsa late but we were all excited just to have some fun.. But the ffun didnt last for long.. As you already know Wednesday is half price games andwe had our cards all loaded upm and ready t have fun..But about 30 min into us being there my son age8 and my daughter age 10 both came up to me stating that they didnt have many chips left..

that made no sense to me cause when we got there there cardsw each had over 300 chips on them, sso why are they almost out? Well Dave and Busters was open until 1 am that evening s the only thing ii can think of is.. after midnight its nt considered Wednesday anymore? now if this is the case i do believe and feel that, tht shoud be posted somewhere or atleast told to everyone who is there for that day cause i nver would have gone if i knew this..

Also they called last call and told us that if we wanted to order something we needed to hurry up mas we didnt have much time.. sso we finally found a server and then we were told NO we couldntorder anything.. so again break my childrens heart..

HOW CAN I GET A REFUND FROM GETTING SICK FROM EATING FOOD FROM THERE?

I took my daughter to Dave & Busters on 06/24/2022 for an early sweet 16 birthday. There were 4 of us there. We asked for a table and the girl was extremely rude. When the waiter finally came to the table after sitting for 30 minutes waiting on someone to come take our order he kept looking away and made us keep having to repeat our order for drinks. It took about 30-40 minutes before receiving our drinks. We finally ordered our food. It took almost another 45 minutes before we received our food. We asked the waiter about how much longer to only get attitude and was told not to ask that question. When the food was brought to the table it wasn't what was ordered and it was cold. We didn't send it back because we didn't want to wait that long again so we ate what we could eat to only get sick from it and to mess up the rest of the night. I would like a refund for the food and messing up my daughter's sweet 16 birthday.
